Surgery Insurance -

Surgery insurance is often covered by a regular health insurance policy. Many kinds of operations are routinely given surgery insurance through the patient’s health insurance.
Through this form of surgery insurance, patients can be protected from any unforeseen event that occurs during the course of the hospitalization. Things that are covered through surgery insurance may include death on the operating table or from complications afterwards, mistake by the surgeon or one of the other operating room personnel, or infections contracted in the hospital after the surgery.

Because insurance companies want to hedge their losses, they usually don’t offer surgery insurance for such elective procedures as cosmetic surgery or obesity surgery. Those who want to undergo a cosmetic procedure or obesity surgery – even lifesaving obesity surgery – may have to buy a supplemental surgery insurance policy. This surgery insurance would protect them in all the ways they would be protected if the surgery were not an elective procedure. And because cosmetic surgery and obesity surgery are usually not life-threatening procedures, a surgery insurance policy may be quite reasonable for the patient to bear.
