Lawyers are especially dangerous when they are retained by the other guy. Your lawyer is supposed to work for your best interest, but lawyers that are hired by somebody else are going to do whatever they can to shaft you. That is probably why lawyers have such a shoddy reputation. You know that whenever you are dealing with lawyers who were hired by somebody else, you probably have something or potentially have something that somebody else wants. Be careful when you deal with lawyers. Lawyers are hired to protect the people they serve, and if you were not the one who hired the lawyers, the lawyers are going to get as much from you as they possibly can.
