Here's a scenario to put the CA Lemon Law in perspective: You're a used car salesman. A car you bought an auction for $300 can be cleaned up and sold for $3,000. It won't necessarily run too well, but probably past the 90 day warranty you slap on it as a selling point. The CA Lemon Law states that when (note: I say "when", not "if") that car dies for its third time in as many weeks, and your mechanic still can't fix the problem, you have to give the customer a refund. Of $3,000. Ouch.
The moral of the story? Don't pick lemons that don't belong to you? No. Don't sell a lemon in California? Yes! The CA Lemon Law was written for you, Mr. Slimy Used Car Salesman. Maybe now, with the CA Lemon Law hanging over your head, you'll at least attempt some honesty. But I doubt it.
