Medical malpractice law is a statute that applies to actions brought about by negligent or careless acts committed by health care providers and doctors. Many states have enacted special medical malpractice law as a response to what some called medical malpractice crisis, which resulted to an increase in the number of medical malpractice actions, substantial jury awards, and a resulting increase in liability insurance rates for health care providers and doctors. In addition, different states have different malpractice law and have special rules and exceptions for medical malpractice cases.
